A website for your salon or barbershop
The uncomfortable truth about a salon website is that clients are loyal to a person, not to a shop. A site that treats the business as the product is fighting the way this industry actually works.
What a hair salon or barbershop site needs
Give each stylist a presence of their own
People book a person. Naming your stylists, showing their own work and letting someone ask for them by name captures the searches for their name and makes the whole team easier to keep — a stylist whose clients found them through your site has a real reason to stay.
The price list is what they came for
Cut, color, balayage, extensions, and the plain fact that long or thick hair takes longer and costs more. A page of 'from' prices with no ceiling sends people to whoever is willing to tell them a real number.
Your own color work, not a styled interior
Color especially is bought with the eyes, and stock salon photography is recognizable as stock at a glance. Photographs of real clients you've actually worked on are the most persuasive thing you can put on the page.
Say whether you take walk-ins
This matters most for barbershops, where a good share of customers are someone deciding on the street. One clear sentence — walk-ins welcome, or appointment only — resolves it. Leaving it ambiguous means some of them simply don't come in.
Show the cancellation policy before the booking, not after
Deposits and late-cancellation fees are completely normal now. Discovering one after the fact is what makes people angry. Stating it plainly at the point of booking reduces no-shows and complaints at the same time.

Questions
Can clients book online?
Yes, with booking, a step built with credits, taken only when you approve it. Clients pick a time from the hours you set, and pay when they book if you take payment up front. Your cancellation policy is yours to set on your Bookings page, in hours, days or weeks.
Can I add or remove stylists as the team changes?
Yes. Edit the words yourself, or ask in chat and Steed makes the change once you say yes.
How do I keep the price list current?
Edit it yourself. Prices are the part of a salon site most likely to go stale. Once your site is Live, turn on Edit above your site in Steed and click the words you want to change; they go live when you save. Anything bigger, ask in chat and it waits for your yes.
